Seafood restaurant · Notting Hill
Geales has been serving fish on Farmer Street since 1939, reopened and restyled in 2006 with pale grey walls, wood panelling and gingham-topped tables recalling a chic beach hut. Cod, sole or haddock come fried in batter alongside starters like smoked salmon and smoked eel, with lobster tagliatelle, fish pie and Maldon rock oysters rounding out a menu that goes well beyond the classic chippy.
A Notting Hill institution since 1939, refurbished into a "posh fish and chips" restaurant with hand-cut chips, beef-dripping onion rings and homemade tartare sauce, alongside Thai soft-shell crab and lobster spaghetti.
